Why Bariatric Patients Love This Recipe

These buffalo chicken meatballs are a bariatric favorite because they’re high in protein, easy to digest, and simple to portion—making it easier to stay consistent with your goals. Using lean ground chicken keeps them light, while Greek yogurt adds creaminess and protein without the heaviness of traditional buffalo wings.

The texture is soft and gentle on the stomach, making them ideal for patients who need tender, moist proteins. They also reheat well, which means they’re perfect for meal prep and busy weeks. Pair them with veggies and brown rice for a balanced, high-protein meal that keeps you satisfied without overeating.

Notes

  • Store in the fridge for up to 4 days—great for meal prep.

  • Pairs perfectly with steamed broccoli and a serving of brown rice for a balanced bariatric-friendly meal or serve over salad for a lighter option

  • For more heat, add extra buffalo sauce to the mixture or sauce.
